Nutrition Expertise with a Few Keystrokes
Ask a Dietitian
Q: I am trying to find calorie information for the stir-fry meal offered today, which consisted of all the vegetables, plus a mixture of all three sauces. Then instead of putting it over rice or noodles, it was placed on top of a bed of romaine lettuce. Thanks! - A customer
A: The exact calories are difficult for me to determine, but by replacing rice/noodles with lettuce you saved about 200 calories (rice and pasta have about 200 calories per cup and lettuce is considered a free food - basically calorie free). I am not sure of the volume of sauce you put on the stir-fry, but the clear chili garlic sauce contains fewer calories than the coconut sauce – about 50 calories less per tablespoon. Overall sounds very healthy, lots of local veggies, delicious and filling. - Regards, Jillian
